Traveling in Greece is a lot of fun, but it's also not without its challenges. From the unpredictable weather to the often confusing language and culture, you'll never be bored!

But what if there was someone who could guide you through all these pesky little details?

Well lucky for you, there are twelve of them - the ancient Greek Gods. Here are some lessons we learnt from them while travelling around Greece:

Zeus

Always be prepared for a storm. Greece is known for its changeable weather, so make sure you pack your raincoat for sun showers, singlets for the hot days and everything in between!

Ares

Always be aware of your surroundings. With so many cobbled streets, it's easy to get lost in the twists and turns of the Greek alleyways! Download a map that you're able to use offline, or go old school and carry a printed map with you when you set off exploring! Better yet, book a Greek Island Hopping tour and have your very own local guide to accompany you!

Athena

Know your limits - especially when it comes to alcohol! Greeks love their Ouzo and Raki, and its right of passage as a visitor to this incredible country to partake in tasting local spirits and aperitifs!

Apollo

Always take in the sunset. Be prepared for some stunning sunsets (and sunrises!). With such clear skies, Greek sunsets are famous the world over for the fairy floss skies that light up at the end of each day and are worth capturing on camera!

Hades

Prepare for the summer! Though the summers are hot and sunny, make sure you bring a jumper for early morning ferry rides! If you're joining an island hopping tour, chances are you'll be up early to catch the first ferry out to the magical Greek Islands!

Persephone

Indulge in life’s little pleasures! Life's too short not to enjoy a Greek speciality....an ice-cold frappe in the sunshine - you will not regret it!

Aphrodite

Fall in love in the Greek Islands. Greece attracts travellers from all over the world, so if you're looking to make new friends, then hopping the Greek Islands is the place to do it!

Hera

Pack your walking shoes! Although there is plenty of sightseeing to do within easy reach of public transport in Athens, the best way to explore is definitely on foot!

Poseidon

Swim your way around Greece! One of the best ways to explore all that Greece has to offer is by boat. Whether you're sailing along the stunning coastline or swimming and exploring on a boat excursion, you're bound to fall in love with the coastline of Greece.

Demeter

Eat. Eat. Eat! Don't forget to sample the local food while you're in Greece - it's some of the best in the world! From souvlaki to gyros, there's something for everyone on any budget to enjoy!

Artemis
